この企画を立案された大邱市のヒウム日本軍「慰安婦」歴史館のチェリンさん、
そしてこの展示をオーガナイズされている尊敬する写真家のアン・セホン先生を交えたトークになります。

を行う機会を頂きました。
1980年代後半の釜山、影島に息づいていた人々、風景、一人の少女の記憶。
未熟児として生まれた妻を取り巻く家族たちの記憶から綴られる妻の文章と、
それらの時について確認しながら描いた僕のイラストの展示です。
オーナーさん、妻、全てを想像もしない仕方で繋げ、叶えてくださる主に、心から感謝いたします。

we were given the opportunity to exhibit
"Fragments of Memory"
at caffe12#???12? near Yongdusan Park in Busan.
The people, the landscape, and the memory of one girl that lived and breathed in Yeongdo, Busan in the late 1980s.
It is an exhibition of my wife's writings written from the family surrounding my wife who was born prematurely, and my illustrations that I drew while confirming this with her.
I thank from the bottom of my heart for the owner, my wife, and the Lord who connects and fulfills everything in ways that I could never have imagined.

韓国の釜山チョリャンで以下の展示を行う機会を頂きました。
心から感謝いたします。
つい最近、韓国で女性労働者についてすぐれた表現を行った芸術家に与えられる
第十三回【ク・ボンジュ賞】を受賞された釜山の著名な画家バン・ジョンアさん。
2018年、日韓の原発問題を主題としたグループ展《核夢２》に僕を日本から招待してくださったバン・ジョンアさんが
開設されたJ2 art spaceにて絵の展示を行う機会を頂きました。
"Back To_"
と題して行うこの展示では、【_への回帰】ということでいくつかの題材の絵を展示いたします。
12月23日（土）3時から企画して頂いたアーティストトークでは、《汚染前への回帰》をテーマに、
今年から開始された福島原発汚染水海洋投棄問題を中心に話し、みなさまとやりとりさせていただければと思います。
この機会をくださったバン・ジョンアさん、J2 art space管理人のjさん、
絵の制作にあたり協力してくれた妻、そして地下室での作業を許可してくださった妻のお父様、お母様に感謝します。
この全てをつなげ、一切を可能にしてくださる主に感謝します。

I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the opportunity to present the following exhibition in Busan, Korea
from December 6 (Wed) to 26 (Tue).
Ms. Jeong-A Bang, a famous painter from Busan, Korea,
who recently won the 13th "Koo Bong-ju Award" given to a artists who have made excellent expressions
about women workers in Korea, invited me from Japan to the group exhibition "Nuclear Dream 2" in 2018,
which was about the nuclear power plant issue between Japan and Korea.
I was given the opportunity to exhibit my paintings at J2 art space, which was established by Ms. Jeong-A Bang.
In this exhibition titled
"Back to_"
I will show some paintings on some themes of "Return to _".
In the artist talk on December 23 (Sat.) at 3:00 pm,
I will talk about "Back to Before Contamination" and exchange ideas with you
about the problem of dumping contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant,
which started this year.
I would like to thank Ms. Jeong-A Bang for this opportunity, Mr. j, the manager of J2 art space,
my wife for her help in creating the painting,
and my wife's father and mother for allowing me to work in their basement.

韓国女性家族省2023年日本軍「慰安婦」問題関連展示事業として行われる
"Testimonies: Opening Memories, Connecting Us"
に、2018年の光州ビエンナーレに向けて描いた《およそ45年後の告白ー日本軍性奴隷被害者群像ー》が展示されることになりました。
忘却と政治化が加速し、これから日本人が関わっていくことが非常に重要になるこの問題。
日本人としてとても貴重な機会を頂いたと感じています。
8月の釜山での展示からこの展示に至るまで尽力して下さった
スヒさん、この企画を立案された大邱市のヒウム日本軍「慰安婦」歴史館のチェリンさん、

"Testimonies: Opening Memories, Connecting Us"
which
will be held from Monday, December 04 to Saturday, December 16, 2023,
at the Seoul City Hall Citizen's Office Gallery
as an exhibition related to the Japanese military "comfort women" issue in 2023
by the Korean Ministry of Women and Family Affairs.
My painting work, "Confession about 45 Years Later: Japanese Military Sexual Slavery Victims,"
which was painted for the 2018 Gwangju Biennale, will be exhibited in the exhibition.
This issue is becoming increasingly forgotten and politicized,
and it is very important for Japanese people to be involved in the future.
As a Japanese, I feel that I have been given a very precious opportunity.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Ms. SuHee for her efforts from the August exhibition in Busan to this exhibition,
to Ms. Chae Rin of the Heeum Japanese Army "Comfort Women" History Museum in Daegu City for planning this project,
to Mr. Ahn Se Hong, a respected photographer who is organizing the exhibition,
to my wife, and to the Lord for connecting everything and making it all possible.

この日のために展覧会を企画してくださったジョン·スヒさんに心から感謝しています。
韓国に行けなくなったコロナ時代の2年間、光州ビエンナーレ後に絵を保管してくれたのは釜山に住む妻とその家族でした。
心から感謝いたします。

I am ashamed to say that I, as a Japanese, was unaware of International Comfort Women's Day until two years ago.
I am truly grateful to Ms. Suhee for organizing the exhibition for this day for me.
I would like to thank my wife and her family during the two years of Covid-19 when I could no longer go to Korea,
my family, and God who connects and establishes all these things.
Without my wife I can't make Korean translation of videowork for this exhibition, great wife, thank you.

I provided paintings for the book "Vaccine Development and War Crimes: The Truth about the Indonesian Tetanus Case" to be published by Iwanami Shoten on March 16th 2023.
I feel that we, the Japanese Ice Age generation, are entrusted to shed light on the wisdom of the postwar Showa period and
pass it on to the future.
We must connect and thicken this healthy axis of cultural rivalry in Japanese society.

ありがたいことに、新しい連作絵画《連作 731》展示の機会を頂きました。

この連作は、731部隊の諸問題から戦後を通じコロナウイルス対応まで一貫して垣間見えている日本の医学界の在り様を顕し、
記憶に残してゆくことを企図した作品です。
制作にあたり、この問題を長年追及されてきた
お二人の慶応義塾大学名誉教授 松村高夫先生と倉沢愛子先生との共同作業をさせて頂きました。
当日は、このお二人が朗読される731部隊被害者の鎮魂詩に合わせて制作したスライドショーを音楽と共に上演いたします。
安倍晋三政権下で猖獗を極めた日本の歴史修正主義の問題を題材にした絵画《およそ70年後に再び現れた極東の怪物》を
ご覧になっていた元編集者の方が、この新作絵画制作/発表のきっかけを私に与えてくださいました。
このような大変貴重な機会に私を結び付けるべく奔走してくださった方々、

I'm grateful for the opportunity to exhibit a new series of paintings "series 731.
This series of paintings is intended to show and remember the state of the Japanese medical community,
which has been consistently glimpsed from the problems of Unit 731 to the response to coronavirus in the postwar period.
In creating this work, I collaborated with two professors emeritus of Keio University,
Dr. Takao Matsumura and Dr. Aiko Kurasawa.
On the day of the event, I will play a slide show with music,
which was created to accompany the requiem poem for the victims of Unit 731
read by these two professors.
A former editor who saw my painting "The Monster of the Far East Reappears After 70 Years,"
which is based on the issue of historical revisionism in Japan,
which has reached its peak under the Shinzo Abe administration,
gave me the opportunity to create and present this new painting.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to
all those who worked so hard to connect me with this very precious opportunity,
and to God for making it all possible.

The documentary "No Nukes" by U.S basing filmmaker Yoko Nakamura is now streaming online at the Asian Pacific American Film Festival in Washington, D.C.I cooperated with the production.If you don't mind, please check it out.Due to the influence of the corona, all of the theater shows have been canceled and will be shown online until the end of May.

福島第一原発事故を題材とした連作絵画作品『無主物』のレプリカが出展される予定のポーランドワルシャワ近代美術館での展示"The Penumbral Age. Art in the Time of Planetary Change"(3/20〜7/6)が、
covid-19に対するポーランド政府文化遺産省の決定により暫く開催日順延となりました。

”The Penumbral Age. Art in the Time of the Planetary Change (3/20〜7/6)” at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, Poland, where replicas of my serial paintings, "MuShuButsu -ownerless substances-" featuring the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident, are scheduled to be exhibited, has been postponed for a while due to the Polish Ministry of Cultural and National Heritage's decision on covid-19.
